The Renfrew Mercury of December 11, 1897 reports in their Cobden News that "Messrs. W.D. Gibbons and Ed. Lee, who went to the Crow's Nest Pass as carpenters, two or three weeks ago, have written to friends here a very favourable report. They don't seem to be sorry for going out".
Edward Lee is shown in the 1901 census for Yale & Cariboo District as a single man, a lodger with a "McPherson" family employed as a "Planer".
Apparently never married.
